Beginning in 2022, Emily Oberg’s luxury fashion brand, Sporty & Rich, and adidas have worked together on a number of collaborative projects. Elegance and heritage always remains at the heart of their partnership, which has so far brought about sophisticated versions of the brand’s top silhouettes, from the iconic Samba to the legendary Stan Smith. In 2024, they turned their attention to another adidas Original, creating three stylish colorways of the Handball Spezial. Later that year, with the Olympics gripping the world, they added a fourth to the collection, this one accompanied by a Samba OG. Both of them were inspired by the colors of the United States, with the design bringing a retro charm and a high fashion edge to these timeless classics.

The color scheme of this adidas Handball Spezial x Sporty & Rich sneaker is based on the three tones represented on the United States flag. Most prominent among this trio is the vivid tone of Collegiate Red, which coats the luxurious suede upper from end to end, including the iconic T-toe overlay and the supportive heel counter. At the top of the heel is a tab made from premium leather in a rich shade of navy known as Night Indigo. Cloud White adidas lettering has been stamped into its surface, with the same elegant hue distinguishing the serrated Three-Stripes logos on each flank. Adidas branding is also embossed onto the gum rubber sole unit and appears in golden text on the insole. Here, it is accompanied by the name of the other creative group responsible for this stylish sneaker: Sporty & Rich. The luxury clothing brand is honored in golden foil letters on the lateral sidewall and again in white alongside the famous Trefoil logo on the glossy red tongue patch that exemplifies the refined styling of this classy Handball Spezial.
