Bright flashes of yellow deliver a powerful element of color to this stylish Jordan 6 Retro, making it a sneaker that is aesthetically pleasing as well as practical. Its outsole delivers both attributes, the latter via its distinctive circular grip indentations, the former through the angular lines that delineate the opaque white sections at the back of the shoe and down the middle of the foot, and the translucent areas either side of the forefoot and across the heel. In the center of it all is a large Jumpman logo whose Yellow Ochre coloration brings an eye-catching radiance to the outsole.

Meanwhile, the midsole goes for a classic tonal juxtaposition in its use of white polyurethane on the toe and heel, as well as most of its medial flank and small parts of its lateral side, and black polyurethane on the majority of its lateral flank and just a couple of pieces on the medial one. Aside from this, translucent elements spread upwards from the outsole to accent the forefoot and create a frame around the visible Air window in the heel, which reveals one of two pockets of springy cushioning within, the other supplying soft comfort to the forefoot.

On the upper, two high-quality materials have been layered atop one another as Yellow Ochre nubuck fills out the forefoot and white leather shapes the overlays that highlight the flanks and the extensive panel that encircles the heel. This latter piece has a hump protruding out over each ankle to provide solid protection there, big perforations in its center and smaller ones around its edges supplying air to the area as well. Further ventilation holes fill the yellow parts of the sidewalls and the lower half of the white tongue, thus improving the comfort-giving properties of the shoe.

Internally, the plush lining and insole are both black, as is the back of the tongue, but a Yellow Ochre Jumpman has been printed onto the sockliner to ensure that some light shading appears there as well. The tongue itself hosts two windows, above which the words “Air” and “Jordan” have been intermingled in embossed lettering. In front of the tongue, two features help to secure the laces – a Yellow Ochre toggle and a neoprene shroud in the same vivid hue. Both of them display a black Jumpman logo in the center, the former being printed on, the latter embroidered. At the back of the shoe, a black pull tab reaches out from one side of the collar before looping back onto the other, a band of Yellow Ochre embossed through its center. Finally, a Jumpman and Air lettering have been embroidered into the heel in Yellow Ochre thread to bring a vibrant finishing touch to this energetic Air Jordan 6.
