This Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 LV8 '40th Anniversary' sneaker comes replete with classy details and heritage elements to commemorate the history of this remarkable shoe. Two neutral tones establish a gentle contrast between the upper and lower halves, the latter being mostly white and the former featuring a creamy off-white tone called Sail. Alongside this pairing, Malachite highlights add a colorful edge to the design, firstly on the two circular structures in the forefoot and heel of the outsole. Radiating outwards from these central points are a series of contoured ridges that offer the wearer solid traction as they walk.

Next, the midsole, whose filling brings together soft foam and bouncy Air cushioning, has Malachite effects comprising two embossed lines and the word “Air” in capitalized letters on its lateral side. A pair of Malachite swooshes adorn the flanks, and a smaller embroidered one sits at the back of the forefoot mudguard. The shoe’s heel panel also exhibits this appealing shade of green, and bold Sail Nike Air text has been printed across it.

Rings of golden metal reinforce the uppermost eyelets, for a deluxe feel, while distinctive branding decorates the tongue patch in the form of the number 1 overlaid with a swoosh and set within a Malachite circle. A Metallic Gold lace lock celebrates the year of the original model with text that reads “AF-1 ‘82”. An even more subtle dedicatory effect honors the anniversary of the design on the lateral heel of the upper, where the number 40 has been debossed with a set of two stars imprinted on either side. Appearing in the same Sail tone as the upper, this detail is hard to make out, but the Malachite writing on the insoles is clearly visible. It includes classic Nike Air branding on the left foot and the numbers 82 and 22 to remember the first year of the sneaker and to mark the year this model was released. Finishing things up is the signature of the shoe’s creator, Bruce Kilgore, which shows up in Malachite on the back of the tongue label to give a nod to the great designer.
