Nike Air Force 1 Mid

The stylish color palette used on this Air Force 1 Mid gives it a retro look. Its sole unit brings together two of these tones through the use of Team Red across the circular patterns, lugs and star-shaped nodes of its outsole and the creamy hue on its Air-cushioned midsole. Raised lettering on the lateral side of this last feature indicates the use of soft padding underfoot, and a groove embedded with broad stitches circumnavigates the top of the cupsole.

Designed as part of the City Pack, this sneaker celebrates London through a set of captivating details that appear across its upper. The first of these is the capital’s dialing code, 020, which has been sewn into the forefoot mudguard in a slightly different tone of red to this leather panel. This hue is known as Team Red and also covers the heel overlay and eyestay. Between these sections lie the toe box and midfoot panels, which are made of Pearl White leather with a slightly crinkled texture. Both are filled with hundreds of microperforations for high levels of breathability.

On the top of the foot, Team Red laces thread together over a Pearl White woven tongue. At its peak, a white label with black Nike Air text and Team Red Air Force 1 branding loops over the rim, which returns to Team Red. This tone continues on the underside of the tongue to match the rest of the inner. Printed onto the surface of the insole is another homage to London – a white graphic that looks like a typical street sign found in the city. The words “Air Force One” have been written onto it in black next to a red swoosh. The lace lock features the same construction, though this time the whole thing is metallic silver with the text etched into it.

A Team Red ankle strap connects to the rear overlay on the medial side of the sneaker before wrapping around the front of the mid-top collar and connecting to a Velcro patch on the lateral flank. A white swoosh has been embroidered into it, for a classy touch, and below it, a white swoosh made of deeply textured leather adorns each sidewall. Lastly, the heel is decorated with a triangular panel in white that has Nike Air text debossed into it in both black and red tones to complete this vintage design.
