Lifestyle brand Supreme has been collaborating with Nike since the early 2000s. During this time, the two have created captivating versions of many iconic silhouettes, and in 2017, their partnership brought them to a 90s trail running shoe known as the Nike Air Humara. As part of a larger apparel collection, four colorways were produced, each maintaining the hardy build and weatherproof prowess of the original, but with added practical features alongside bold color schemes and stylish details. This led to a stunning resurgence for the Humara, which has continued to grow in popularity well into the 2020s.
Sleek and stealthy, this Nike Air Humara 17 x Supreme design represents the fundamental virtues of both brands. Its all-black outer has the urban practicality and streetwear esthetic associated with lifestyle label Supreme. Meanwhile, Nike’s trademark blend of supportive technology and durable materials makes it incredibly comfortable but also highly functional. The shoe’s trail running DNA is also evident in its stocky build, which allows it to withstand the effects of challenging outdoor conditions. Reflective detailing then helps to illuminate the wearer at night. Stylish branding details appear all over this collaborative Air Humara, with elegantly embroidered swooshes, subtly debossed Supreme lettering and the “World Famous” slogan stamped across the heels. Lastly, a bright red insole evokes Supreme’s well-known box logo to complete this sneaker with a vivacious splash of color.
Created by innovative designer and out-of-the-box thinker Peter Fogg in 1997, the Air Humara was originally made as a technically proficient trail running shoe for use in difficult terrain and harsh weather.
