Nike Air Humara

This rugged Nike Air Humara comes in a set of warming tones for an appropriately earthy look. It is constructed upon a solid black rubber base with bidirectional grip pads on the forefoot and heel that allow the wearer to maintain steady balance on undulating surfaces. Studded areas then cap the toe, heel and the sides of the midfoot to provide all-round traction. Yellow Ochre diamond shapes have been scattered between the angular grip pads at the back end of the forefoot, while a swoosh and the word “Air” have been set beneath the heel in the same tone. Below the arch of the foot, a larger diamond blends black and Yellow Ochre to define an image of a winding path with a swoosh in the center and the word “Trail” off to one side, thus referencing the trail running heritage of this iconic silhouette.

Deep ridges that improve the traction provided by the outsole reach upwards into the thick midsole, whose textile-wrapped surface exhibits an eye-catching grid pattern of black and yellow tones. Zoom Air pads out the forefoot and Nike Air has been placed in the heel, giving the wearer the incredible experience of two of the brand’s most comfortable cushioning technologies. Atop this supportive structure is an upper that blends synthetic leather overlays with a flexible mesh base layer. The latter comes in a pleasant shade of beige known as Wheat Grass, which also shows up on the mudguard protecting each flank and the three overlays that band together to form an arch over each sidewall. Black stitching effects form lines across these bands of leather where the shoe’s webbed lacing system passes beneath them. This system comprises several strips of Wheat Grass textile with jagged black stripes down the middle. These zig-zag up and down over the flanks, forming eyelets along the edge of the tongue for the Yellow Ochre laces to be threaded through.

Similar effects can be found on the heel, where a black mudguard sits beneath a Wheat Grass overlay whose diagonal edges give way to more tan-colored mesh. This time, Wheat Grass stitching has been used so that it stands out against the black of the mudguard, again indicating the presence of the textile strip behind it. Two striped bands move up the heel before converging at an oval-shaped black leather heel panel with a Yellow Ochre swoosh woven into its center. They reappear above it as one looping pull tab that can be used in concert with a second one on the tongue when putting the shoe on. This latter piece extends all the way down the middle of the tongue, where it provides additional loops to hold the laces even more firmly in place as the wearer traverses rough terrain.

Internally, the shoe is mostly black, aside from a square-shaped trail running logo, which makes use of Yellow Ochre to distinguish itself from the darker tones around it. Back on the outer, the tongue is blanketed with Wheat Grass mesh to match the upper, the breathable material reaching all the way down to the forefoot. Here, it is overlaid by a Wheat Grass leather panel placed behind the black mudguard that protectively envelops the toe in abrasion resistant rubber. A black swoosh with a Yellow Ochre outline has been sewn into the forefoot overlay, which then tapers into a narrow band as it moves back to connect with the textile strip on the tongue. At the peak of this latter feature is a black tab somewhat like the one found on the heel. It exhibits several embroidered elements, including a swoosh, Air lettering and the entirety of its curved edge, all of which come in Yellow Ochre. The word “Air” has also been woven into the lateral heel in black thread, before an eye-catching Yellow Ochre leather swoosh adorns each flank to round off this powerful Air Humara in style.
