Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Jeff Staple

Unique details can be found all across this Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Jeff Staple sneaker, which follows in the footsteps of Staple’s earlier Pigeon designs. This one combines black and white tones throughout and has the fitting nickname Panda Pigeon as a result. The furore caused by the 2005 shoe has been referenced on the translucent outsole, whose partially see-through grip patterns reveal a newspaper clipping graphic underneath while maintaining the model’s excellent traction. Lying over this is a black midsole that helps to cushion the foot. Contrasting gray stitching runs around its upper edge, above which the cupsole ends in a band of smooth rubber.

White leather provides the foundation for the upper, forming familiar shapes around the heel, through the midfoot and over the toe box, whose aeration holes ventilate the front of the foot. Three parallel lines of stitching arc across the heel in the space between the black suede rear overlay and the white heel panel. Green Nike text has been embroidered into this last feature, adding a dash of color to the back of the foot. As well as the luxurious black suede that encircles the heel, there are more pieces of this plush material on the eyestay and the forefoot mudguard, making for a premium design.

Black laces criss-cross over the puffy black mesh tongue, which has a label woven into its peak in the same tone. Adorning its surface is a set of Nike SB branding in white alongside a swoosh and the words “Dunk Low Pro” in green. Meanwhile, contrasting leather swooshes reach along the sides of the shoe, the lateral one in white, the medial one gray. Inside, more distinctive elements appear. There is the bamboo graphic on the green insole, which incorporates a pigeon on the right foot and the surname of the collaborating designer in white on the left. On the medial wall of the black inner lining is a line of text that reads “STAMPLE NOT FOR RESELL”. In an inventive move, the first word has the “T” inserted into it and the “M” scribbled out, suggesting both “sample” and “Staple”. Finally, in classic Jeff Staple fashion, there is a pigeon embroidered into the lateral heel, thus finishing off the Panda Pigeon with a memorable embellishment.
