This suave Jordan 4 Retro features a sleek, agile design that mirrors its nickname, Black Cat – a moniker which was used affectionately in reference to Michael Jordan himself during his early years. The sneaker rests upon a rubber outsole lined with wavy grip lines that have been arranged in different directions to provide high-levels of traction underfoot. Below the arch lies a white Jumpman logo, which is the first of many to be found on the shoe as well as being its only hint of white. A black midsole enhances this Air Jordan’s comfort-giving capabilities via the pocket of Air that can be seen through a clear window in the heel.

Meanwhile, the upper is made from velvety black nubuck and suede, which covers the forefoot and quarter overlays, giving the sneaker a high-class feel. Areas of black netting bring an intriguing aesthetic to the flanks, with another piece just below the black eyestay. TPU cages secure the laces at two places on each side of this last feature, holding them firmly over the black tongue. Here, a subtle contrast in color is to be found in the form of a Light Graphite Jumpman with the word “Flight” beneath it in a handwritten font.

Additional TPU triangles emerge from the quarter overlays before joining to the lace cages, thus holding the different parts of the shoe together. Above them, the smooth black collar protects the ankle, while behind them, the black heel tab contains another Jumpman, this time blending into its background in black, its slightly glossy surface giving it an eye-catching sheen in the light. Within, a final splash of Light Graphite decorates the Jumpman logo on the black insole for a stylish finish.
