The sky blue colors donned by this dynamic Jordan 6 Retro sneaker reference Jordan’s time at the University of North Carolina, earning it the familiar UNC moniker. It has been built upon a sturdy rubber base that consists of both clear sections tinged blue and solid white areas, each containing circular grip indentations of varying sizes. Their jagged edges form a compelling pattern across the outsole, while the giant University Blue Jumpman in its center adds a classic touch. Next up is a polyurethane midsole that combines black areas on the medial heel and along the lateral side with white parts on the toe, heel and both flanks. The translucent part of the outsole extends up either side of the heel to create a border around each of the clear windows in the midsole, which allow the Air cushioning inside to be seen.

The upper continues with a similar color theme, firstly via its University Blue underlayer, which is made of plush nubuck. This high-quality material appears over the forefoot and down the flanks in the gaps delineated by the offbeat shape of the white leather sidewall overlay. These sections are filled with perforations that are backed by 3M reflective paneling, for a shiny finish. The same can be said of the larger aeration holes in the pods that protrude out of the white leather rear panel over each ankle. Another line of perforations sits in front of each pod, with a triangle of them behind it, creating a captivating aesthetic on the collar. Meanwhile, the back of the foot is encompassed by the white overlay, and a special Team Jordan patch incorporating red, black, white and gray tones has been sewn into its center using University Blue thread.

At the top of the heel is an arch-shaped pull tab in black with a University Blue strip curving across it. Behind this, a soft black tab emerges from the topline, which is made from the same fabric. This plush inner lining reaches down to the insole, whose multi-colored pattern of jagged graphics dons the hues from other areas of the shoe, with black and white alongside different shades of blue. A gray Jumpman has been printed atop this lively composition, which also extends up the back of the tongue. The front of this feature reveals the same pattern behind a translucent blue layer with Air Jordan text embossed into it just above a pair of square-shaped holes.

On the top of the foot, the bottom part of the tongue is black, and white laces criss-cross over it. A University Blue lace cover resides higher up over the middle of the tongue, its slightly glossy surface containing a black embroidered Jumpman. This cover can be unclipped using the snap button at the top if the laces need to be rethreaded. A Midnight Navy lace lock helps to secure the laces, and the mini Jumpman printed onto it in a concluding display of University Blue caps off this desirable sneaker with another UNC highlight.
