Dunk Low Disrupt 2

Nike’s iconic Dunk first came out in the 1980s, but in the early 2020s, the brand crafted a variety of alternative versions, giving the shoe’s fanbase a wide range of options to choose from. One of these is the women’s exclusive Nike Dunk Low Disrupt 2 – a uniquely deconstructed take on the classic model.

It is founded upon the same type of cupsole as the original Dunk, but this one is coated in hundreds of tiny specks, thus indicating the use of recycled Nike Grind rubber in its construction. This puts it into the brand’s Move to Zero sustainability project, and as such, it has the pinwheel swoosh logo printed onto the insole.

The upper of the Dunk Low Disrupt 2 is made from soft canvas fabric, with plush suede paneling laid over the top in a way that pays homage to the Dunk while also presenting its own distinctive style through elements like the double eyestay and the oval heel tab, which has a pull tab attached to it for ease of use. Another large overlay wraps around the back of the foot, overlapping with the midsole and the upper to add to the eccentricity of the look.

Artful embroidery appears all over the design, from the Nike Dunk logo sewn across the tongue, both on and off the patch, to the intricate lines arcing across the heel and the thick bands in the middle of the eyestay. Further stitching graces each flank, with a large swoosh outline below a smaller complete one on the lateral side and just the outline of a logo on the medial wall.

The Nike Dunk Low Disrupt 2 has been built for personalization via the specialized design of its laces, which includes an extra eyelet on the toe box. Made of plastic, this unique element has been slotted into the notch in the lateral side of the forefoot mudguard, offering a lacing option that can be used or left open as desired. The sneaker is also delivered with additional sets of laces, and the presence of elastic bands around the tongue means that, even if they are left undone, the foot will remain securely in place. All of this enables each individual to personalize their own pair in a variety of stylish ways.

Since it was first introduced in 2022, many vibrant colorways of the Dunk Low Disrupt 2 have been released, including a particularly eye-catching one with the Serena Williams Design Crew. Coupled with its quirky design and classic comfort, this makes the Disrupt 2 a highly appealing sneaker for anyone seeking a standout look.
