Jordan 1 High x Spider-Man ‘Across the Spider-Verse’

A series of magnificent graphics and patterns have been used across this Jordan 1 High x Spider-Man ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ sneaker, giving it a powerfully colorful aesthetic. Known as Next Chapter due to its connection with the second movie in the animated trilogy, its outsole starts things off with a single bright tone of University Red covering the blend of circular and linear tread formations that make it so wonderfully grippy. Its surface has a hint of translucence in ordinary lighting conditions and glows bright white when in the dark. Adding comfort alongside this intriguing capability is an off-white midsole filled with foam cushioning and marked with a groove of stitches that runs around its entire circumference.

Even more color has been added to the shoe’s upper, whose base layer is a smooth white leather. This is apparent on the midfoot panels and the perforated toe box, before a collection of striking overlays takes up the rest of the sneaker. Firstly, there is a University Red mudguard capping the toe, its lateral piece made of glossy patent leather, the rest a more traditional leather. More of this lustrous material has been used to shape the medial forefoot overlay, and the lateral one is made from plush suede. Both exhibit University Red tones, as does the lateral edge of the heel counter, which is also suede. The rest of this last feature has a design that incorporates lines of black spots over a cloudy mix of University Red and darker hues. Just above this is a square of white leather which acts as the centrepoint for the shoe’s black patent leather swooshes to emerge from before they reach along its flanks.

Internally, from the insole to the inner walls, the shoe is completely black, though the back of the tongue is coated in a soft white mesh. Its topside comes in an aged shade of off-white like that seen on the midsole, the two components together creating a heritage feel. Black laces tie up over the tongue as they thread through the leather eyestay, which combines two different patterns. One is a collection of tiny pink spots, while the other incorporates larger polka dots in red, blue and yellow hues. The same graphics work together on the collar wrap to eye-catching effect, the collar itself acting as the ideal background, with its shiny black exterior. The pair of Air Jordan Wings printed onto its lateral side features a dual-layered image of University Red on yellow, before a concluding piece of branding highlights the top of the tongue. Here, a white and University Red label displays white Nike text and a swoosh to finish off this striking collaborative sneaker in style.
